Bali, Pali (2003) – Doosra Dashak

DD activities in Bali block started in 2003, It has worked in 66 revenue villages in 28 Gram Panchayats of Bali, catering to the most backward areas and marginalized populations and has benefitted 9733 adolescents through its various activities.

Located in Pali district, Bali has 11 villages under 39 gram panchayats and two municipalities. The most significant characteristic of the block is the large Scheduled Caste,(SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) population of nearly 43 percent. Nearly one-third of the geographical area of the block is hilly and inhabited by diverse tribal communities: Bhils, Garasias, Meenas, etc.

As of 2011 India census, Bali has a population of 2,19,181/-.  Adult literacy rate of the block is 46.1% with a gender gap of around 11% and drop-out rate before reaching class 8th is as high as 22%, majority being girls. Child marriages are still  revalent and are a major barrier for continuing education of girls.
